displaying information nexi

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

I wrote before about how benoit wanted wifidog to focus on content presentation, as opposed to content managment.

now that I have a very concrete idea for what I want wifidog to do re: portal page / social software (not talking about it’s functionality as client firmware, user authentification/managment), I find myself needing to get some serious feedback re the best ways to do that.

Basically i’m wondering how to visualize intersections of information streams. and what technology to use to do that. so one problem is how to determine what information should be there based on criterias x,y,z. and then how to you properly display them.

i need to write down this very clearly and get people’s input on it online. face to facewith 2-3 people isn’t going to cut it.

i would love to work on this right now, but i have to do some stupid things like schoolwork and taking care of chasing $$.

those 2 hours / week

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

i get approx 2 hours a week where my brain really sings. The rest of the time I muddle along as best I can - with varying degrees of clear headedness.

Tonight was one of those nights. I walked from westmount (dinner with my parents) back to my place on laurier (soon to be my ex-place). Unfortunately a personal matter derailed me before I could get any thoughts written down.

All I remember is hacking families (stupid phrase but i’ll explain it later), winter as sorbet or hot/cold saunas, . . . oh yeah - wondering if there was a world for the data that is the equivalent in relation to consciousness and noosphere? When I say data, i’m not including communications. I’m just talking content / information.

I had an interesting few minutes this afternoon talking with Robin (stopped by his house briefly) where we talked about the data that’s out there. I know that I don’t “see” data the same way he does. I really think that he and jo look at things and see the data swirling all around it. I’m mostly blind to those things.
