happy birthday

jules.

Incidentally, Julian’s RSS swap (link 2) was the most interesting thing I’ve heard in .. oh, say 2 months. It’s a gut reaction, not some over explained poorly written post on the importance of the latest technological hiccup.

I’m trying out the latest version of democracy player:

Hi Everyone,

I am very excited to announce Miro, the new name of Democracy Player.
We’re still the same non-profit organization, the same people working on the project, the same open-source code. But we have a new name and a new logo that I think will reduce a lot of confusion (lots of folks thought ‘Democracy’ was only for political video) and will help us reach more people.

Please visit our new website and try out Miro: http://www.getmiro.com

There are a bunch of improvements in this version, most importantly a lot of bug fixes that should make it more reliable than ever. Full details are here on the blog:

congrats to Mir and Hugh for being written up in the mirror.

I’m still reading john raulston saul’s “On Equilibrium”. It’s more hardcore than most of the advanced seminars that i took at Queens. I finished the section on intuition and found it spectacular. Now i’m on memory and it’s reinforcing my desire to produce the heritage wiki project i’m working on.

I’m having sex these days. It’s a lot of fun, and I wish that we talked about it more as a culture. Partially just because I’m getting some and I want to gloat, but more because it’s so multifaceted and has such a impact. We seem to talk about it a lot, but the the way we discuss it is so shallow and rarely extends past a teenage concern about getting it or worrying about being good/bad at it. I had a short but candid talk with a friend at the CWN conference about how sex changed for him from his 30’s to his 40’s and it just made it so obvious how I never have a real discussion on the subject.

I would write some more about it now but I have to run off and buy some ice wine (???) before 6.
