I was at another community TIC / appropriation / communautaire event all day yesterday (9am-4pm):

It was actually the best one of these events that I’ve been too, excluding the national CRACIN workshops. Because we were amongst peers and allies we ended up asking all kinds of really tough questions of our work. Stuff about whether civil societie’s vision of the information society is really all that different from the neo-liberal agenda - if not, are we just doing their work for them? I really enjoyed yesterday. Thanks to Nicolas and the rest of the local academics that organzed it.

They are going to prepare a report of the day. I’ll share it when I get it.

Hier avait lieu une journée-débats organisée par notre équipe du projet CRACIN (Serge, Julien, Valérie et moi), et regroupant plusieurs acteurs du milieu communautaire québécois, tous impliqués d’une manière ou d’une autre dans le domaine des TIC. On a donc décidé d’élargir, de sortir de l’univers Communautique, et de privilégier le débat ouvert pour démarrer une réflexion. Étaient présents Michael Lenczner, Denis Boudreau, Alain Ambrosi, Claude Demers, Christina Haralanova, et Stéphane Couture.

Le thème général était la spécificité de l’approche communautaire en TIC. En arrière plan, nous souhaitions être informés sur le mouvement communautaire (ou plutôt les mouvements), sur la signification que les personnes présentes pouvaient donner à leurs actions, notamment quant à leur participation au développement d’une société de l’information.
