There are lots of techno events that I don’t go to in Montreal. Hugh, Boris and I hang out a bunch at Laika with other people but then there’s the LabCMO events, FACIL, Koumbit + Communautique crowd, seb’s WikiWednesday (formerly SebYul), YulBlog and Movl, GameCODE, etc. I used to try to go to all of these 3 years ago. Now I don’t even attempt to. And the networks of people from these events don’t necessarily mix very much (except for the lab, facil, koumbit, communautique crowd which sometimes seems like a big cuddle party with robin perpetually in the middle ;-) Ha! funny image - but not meant to be dismissive. those guys all do unbelievable work

I was just talking to Hugh, asking him how he thought we should have our discussions this summer. I think I want to keep things small most of the time. But it also made me think that we should do some larger, open events.

So this summer I think we should have monthly 5-7’s at Laika on thursdays or fridays for all the FLOSS, media, academics, web people, etc. Basically I’ll bring my friends and you all bring your friends. Sound good/bad/ugly?
