good times

great conversation with soli last night at laika. very refreshing.

and i finally showed benoit what I’ve been thinking re: UI and functionality of wifidog. I’ve been pretty nervous - but he was completely down with the use-cases, the UI and even some of the ideas I had about how to build it / seperate it into chunks. he obviously had some better ideas in terms of the “how to build” seeing as he’s the lead developper for Wifidog. but I was very happy that the I had as good an idea of the architecture as I do.

we had an awesome 4 hours discussing it and how we’re going to move on it. a great part was it seems like we’re going to be able to do what I imagined and seperate some large chunks out of wifidog that other people might want to use for other projects. do the whole “loosely coupling” thing (as important in appearance as it is in terms of real code) which means we might be able to attract some more coders.

i love thinking about how to project manage complicated open source projects. so much fun.

next step - meet with patrick for some advice tomorrow morning re: design. at the office, of course.

good times indeed. let’s do it again - but on a day that starts with Fri or Sat rather than the painful alternatives…
