Yulblogging academics?
I’m making a list of Montreal academics who blog.
If you know of anyone who is a undergrad, master’s, phd candidate, or prof that blogs please add them. They have to blog about their subject semi-regularly. So far there’s 13 of us. My bet is that there are a lot more, but that they aren’t part of the yulblog scene.
If you don’t know how to use a wiki please email them to me.

That’s a cool initiative Mike, i’m glad you did this so quickly. Maybe i should just “wikedit” the page, but as i dont know how to add a column, i would suggest 2 distinct columns for the “Area” one : “Study field”, which would be our main formation, and “Areas of work/interest”, where people tell others about the different projects and related fields they’re working on.

Great Idea. How often will the list be updated?

mmmm.. well, first, it’s a wiki, so it will updated as often as people want to update it ;)
besides that, i’m not sure what we should do. I’m talking to seb about different ideas about tracback blog (topic exchance) or about splicing rss feeds. but I also wonder if people would be interested in meeting one another to discuss.
One thing I’m really interested in is the tension between publishing (papers) and blogging. Also if blogging is an destabilizing force in academia.
Basically I want to know what other people think about it. Do they view it as a way to get feedback, a way to share their “job” with their friends, just a place to blow off steam, etc.
