Chock full

Two very different ISF meetings yesterday:

The first one was a brainstorming session on possibilities for our splash pages. We have the ability to deliver different pages to ISF users depending on what hotspot they are connecting from. We were thinking of how to best use that cabapility of “bringing geography back to the internet”. The main ideas were 1)creating community via a YASNS (yet another social networking service) type functions, 2)delivering content specific to that cafe -content created by the venue, us, or third parties (ex: eco-quartier, alternatives, local artists group, the boroughs), and 3)promoting local new media artists.

I think we made really good use of the wiki before this meeting. You can check out the attendees (incomplete list).

Michelle has gracefully accepted to be in charge of pushing this project. She took notes and will add them to the wiki soon.

Seb came, which was very exciting. It was great to meet someone who I’ve have been reading for almost a year. He posted some rough notes here that have several key ideas for what we are trying to do.

The other meeting was the first meeting of the administrative board of ISF. Daniel wrote about it here (and he said very nice things about the rest of us). Aww, shucks, Dan. We love you, too.
